The general condition of the track, right of way and stations were found to be in satisfactory condition and equal to the requirements in point of safety. Considerable ballasting has been done during the year. The renewal of ties has been liberal. Passenger stations have received general repairs. Considerable new face built; rail has been renewed at different point along the line. The surface and alignment of tack is fair.
Important improvement have been made in the city of Ann Arbor that have resulted in the separation of the grades at several streets. The passenger train service and equipment are ample for the requirements of the traffic. Bridge structures have received thorough repairs. Interlocking devices at the different railroad crossing fairly well maintained. Motive power and equipment in fair condition and as required by law. Highway crossing fairly well maintained. Frogs and switches generally blocked.
